Staff update - maddy’s new role

We’re delighted to share some exciting news — Maddy Bunker has recently been offered the role of Over 50s Development Practitioner (Hall Green) with Birmingham Vineyard, a post funded by the Body Mind Spirit Partnership. This is a community-based role operating from the church building where Birmingham Vineyard East Site meets.

Maddy has now finished her role as Compassion Coordinator to take up this new opportunity. We’re deeply thankful for all she has given — her heart, dedication, and passion have made a real difference in strengthening our church’s compassion ministry. We’re excited to see how this new community role will grow from East Site.

You may be wondering how Compassion Ministries will be overseen going forward. Compassion remains one of our core values as it's central to the mission and ministry of Jesus. Our hope is that we will all be able to play our part in extending God's love through our day-to-day lives and through the ministries that happen through our Church. For ways to get involved see the Compassion page on our website.

This term we’re taking time to consider the best way to resource and oversee this important area of church life.  In the meantime, our incredible Compassion volunteers will continue to make these ministries happen, supported by some essential administrative support while we discern the best next steps.  Please pray for us to have wisdom in decision making. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have specific questions.

Impact Report - Finance

At Birmingham Vineyard, we aspire to be a church that lives generously. This means we are committed to giving away a portion of everything we receive.

Thanks to your generosity, we are able to give over 10% of our annual income to initiatives that extend far beyond our local church. A significant part of our resources goes to supporting other parts of the body of Christ around the world.

Here are just a few of the ministries your giving has helped us support in 2025:

The Gideons

Through your generosity, we were able to provide the Gideons with Bibles for students at the University of Birmingham. These were distributed during Freshers’ Week alongside Agape tracts, sweets, and information about local churches. University Christian Union members handed them out on campus, sharing hope and the message of Christ with new students.

Dalitso Trust

Dalitso Trust works with rural communities in Malawi, using a method called Community Health Evangelism. Their mission is to teach and equip local people, empowering them to lift themselves and their communities out of poverty. Beyond practical support, Dalitso Trust has helped plant several churches in Malawi, bringing both spiritual growth and tangible transformation.

Learn more about their work here: Dalitso Trust

Yes Uganda

We also support missionaries David and Faith Paterson in Uganda through their organisation, Yes Uganda, which provides care and support for vulnerable children. Their work is making a real difference, and you can watch their latest update here:

Thank you. Your giving is helping to enrich God’s story here in our nation and across the globe.

Impact Report - Worship

Our worship & production ministries exist to help people encounter God in all of our gathered environments. Here’s the latest update from Jon, our Assistant Pastor who oversees worship.

In the last 6 months, our worship and production ministries have been involved in leading 104 Sunday worship sets, plus youth worship nights twice per month, young adults Wednesday Gatherings any many more spaces.

We also ran an all-night worship event with over 100 people coming, and a gospel worship night with over 60 people. Both of these were really special times of encountering God through extended worship times.

We often hear stories of people encountering God for the first time in the midst of worship!

We’ve also been involved with worship and production on a national scale, helping with the Vineyard Leaders Gathering, a Vineyard Worship live recording, DTI, and more!

Thank you so much to everyone who gives to equip the worship & production ministries with all the gear we need, plus the ability to develop, celebrate and train our nearly 100 volunteers!

As you give to God’s church, you’re enabling this ministry, and many others, to bring people to Jesus - many for the first time.

Impact Report - Overseas Mission

The Dalitso Trust is just one of the overseas organisations that we’re able to support because of your generosity. Here’s the latest update from Tom and Ali :

In 2002 we started the Dalitso Trust in Malawi and moved to Birmingham in 2012 leaving a talented team led by Chippo to continue the work on the ground. We visited recently in July to encourage the team and local Vineyard churches.

Our 4 areas of work continue to bring change to local communities:

Dalitso Grow – Planting Vineyard churches. 3 are established and 3 small groups are in new areas which we hope will grow.

Dalitso Play – Serving 40 families a week with educational play sessions.

Dalitso leaders – Teaching 18 church leaders practical leadership and theology.

Dalitso Health – teaching over 300 health lessons to local families.

Please pray for Chippo and the team that the Presidential Elections this September would be peaceful and fair.

Chippo ‘This past year we have seen God’s faithful hand in so many ways as people discover who they really are in Him. Through our 4 areas of ministry we have seen over 1000 healing miracles, 521 people coming to faith and 56 baptisms!’

Thank you for sharing this journey with us through your generous giving.

If you would like to be a part of this story please speak to us (Tom & Ali), Bill Dixon or Tom and Kat Densham. More information and regular updates can be found on our website https://www.dalitsotrust.org

Impact Report Youth

The vision of BV Youth is for youth to access Jesus and the church easily, to download Jesus into their hearts with everything that He offers, to be upgraded by the power of the Holy Spirit for transformation, and to go and make disciples by transferring the Good News to others!

On Sundays, we have around 40 Youth joining us across all sites! On Fridays, we consistently have 40 - 50 youth coming regularly and inviting their friends.

In January, we ran Youth Alpha, and we saw youth growing in their faith and inviting their non church friends to come and explore faith.

During the year Vineyard runs smaller youth gatherings across the country called the DTI Road Trip, they’re great fun, and one of our youth gave their life to Jesus last time we went!

In March, we had 60 of our youth staying the night for Network Camp! It was a fantastic extended time with them, and we saw God really move.

We have seen Youth growing in their leadership, with one of our youth preaching on a Sunday and our young people being encouraged to serve in ministries across the church.

We have seen a great hunger in our Youth for worship and growing deeper in prayer and the bible. God is on the move, and now we are gearing up and getting ready to go to DTI. We have around 40 youth signed up. And our Young people are very excited to come to DTI!

Thank you to all of you who give, enabling us to create a space for young people to meet Jesus.

If you want to be a part of this story, whether that’s through giving, serving or praying, get in touch with Narek who oversees our youth ministry: nareka@birminghamvineyard.com

Announcing the North Site

We are super excited to be able to announce that we are going to be planting a new site in the north of the city in 2026.

For those of you who missed it, here is the announcement we made in our Sunday services across all our sites on July 20th 2025:

We are super excited to be able to announce that we are going to be planting a new site in the north of the city in 2026.

For those of you who missed it, here is the announcement we made in our Sunday services across all our sites on July 20th 2025:

We are going to be gathering people to pray with us from the beginning of September. If you feel called to join us in our site-planting adventure, please connect with us at jorh@birminghamvineyard.com or caprh@birminghamvineyard.com and let us know you’re interested.

We know you may have some questions, so we’ve tried to address some of them below, but do contact us if you don’t find your answers.

FAQs:

Who will lead the City Centre morning service?

Andrew & Rosie McNeil are going to be much more present at the CCAM service, stepping into lead as they are needed, as will Jon Solway. We also have other key members of our pastoral team -  Pui, Narek, and Lauren, who will all be travelling between sites too!

How can I be involved?

Firstly, we need people to pray! Please dig in to pray for all those involved in the site plant, as well as those building up CCAM - site leaders, all the teams and their leaders, small group leaders and those discerning what the Lord is calling them into. Pray that the Lord will be stirring the hearts of people to join these sites as we look to grow in numbers and discipleship.

Secondly, we need people to serve. We will need to expand our teams in all areas at the City Center in order to be able to release teams to the new site.

Thirdly we need people to give financially. The new site will need a venue and equipment - all this is costly. We’ll be sharing what the costs will be, but please be considering whether or not you are able to contribute financially to this new venture.

Where will North Site meet?

We don't know yet but we are actively looking for venues around the areas north of the M6 and south of Sutton Park. Please be praying for God’s provision here.

When will North Site start to meet?

We’ll be gathering to pray from September, with a view to starting to meet in person at a new venue early in 2026.

Will there be provision for kids & youth?

We certainly hope so - but we’ll need a volunteer team to run it - why don’t you consider helping to make that happen?

I live in the north of the city - do I have to move to the North Site?

No, you can attend whatever site you want to. We would love those who live in the north of the city to prayerfully consider being involved but ultimately, we want everyone to be obedient to be where they feel the Lord is calling them to be.
