MedIa & Photography at Birmingham Vineyard

Why We Capture & Share Media

Photography and video are powerful tools to capture the story of what God is doing at our church, and communicate it to the world; spreading the hope and good news of Jesus to many who haven’t yet experienced it. By capturing testimonies and the life of our church, we can welcome people who haven’t yet stepped through our doors. Having photos of our various spaces helps newcomers get a sense of our church community and feel more at ease before they even arrive.

Creating a Safe Space

We’re passionate about creating spaces where you feel safe and at ease. We want to create an inviting environment where you can worship without distraction.

  • Trained Teams: Our photography team undergoes specific training and follows strict guidelines to remain as unobtrusive as possible.

  • Privacy First: We handle all media responsibly. We will never share personal information (such as names or contact details) alongside an image without your explicit consent.

  • Respecting the Moment: Our photographers are instructed to stay clear of "No-Photography" zones and to avoid capturing intimate moments of prayer, communion, or ministry.

Sensitive Data & Consent

Under data protection laws, religious activity is considered sensitive. We take this seriously:

  • Identifying Images: For photos where individuals are clearly engaging in religious activities (such as worshipping, taking communion, or reading the Bible), we will seek permission before use.

  • Sunday Services: During the worship ministry and teaching times of our regular services, our team aims to capture the atmosphere without focusing on the identities of those in the congregation.

  • Special Events: Occasionally, for specific events, we may capture moments of worship or prayer. When this happens, we will notify you in advance of the event and provide a simple way for you to opt out.

  • Platform Roles: If you are serving on stage (e.g. worship, preaching, or hosting), please be aware that these roles include consent to be photographed or recorded as part of the service broadcast, and photos will be captured for media use.

Your Right to Request Removal

Even if permission was previously granted, we respect your right to change your mind. If you appear in a published photo or video and would like it deleted:

  1. Contact our communications department or church leadership you can do this by emailing info@birminghamvineyard.com.

  2. Identify the specific media and share your concern.

  3. We will promptly investigate and, where appropriate, remove the content from our digital platforms and future publications.

Your Safety Matters

If having your photo taken poses any risk to the safety of you or your family (for example, due to religious persecution), please let us know immediately by filling out the form below. We want to ensure you can worship with us without putting yourself in danger.
