City Pastors is a project involving volunteers from local churches working together with the Broad Street and Southside districts of Birmingham to ensure everyone who visits the city on a Friday or Saturday night encounters a safe, vibrant environment.

You could sum up being a City Pastor as a “friendly face, a listening ear and a caring heart”.

We operate around these core values:-

  • We provide a helpful, supportive and Christ-like presence on the street.

  • We are an expression of a united church in the city of Birmingham.

  • We work in partnership with existing services and agencies.

  • We treat everyone we meet with care and respect.

City Pastors provide an essential pastoral bridge between the street wardens, business owners, door staff, police, taxi marshals and the general public. We are there to help clubbers, diners, concert go-ers, homeless people, tourists and anyone else we encounter on the street. We also work with vulnerable or marginalised people providing a caring face and signposting support to other agencies.

All our City Pastors are volunteers and we love to get new people on board, so if you would like to get involved email Mike at: mikebham2004@yahoo.co.uk

The next City Pastors training is coming up on the evenings of Feb 10th & 11th
